After having participated in several on-board scientific instrumentation programs (satellites, manned flights) and several entrepreneurial adventures (VERMON, DRUSCH, CARRAR, CORRYL), Jean-Claude Germain founded the company CAYLAR on April 10, 2002.

Initially focused on the manufacture and maintenance of NMR gaussmeters, CAYLAR gradually became a company specializing in the design and manufacture of magnetic systems (electromagnets, power supplies, gaussmeters) combining the historical know-how of DRUSCH and BOUHNIK. CAYLAR is one of the few industrial players to offer complete magnetic systems for producing, measuring and regulating a magnetic field with high precision and stability. It offers complex and unique customized solutions to meet the specific objectives and constraints of various national and international players in scientific research, in the field of nuclear physics and magnetism, and increasingly for industrialists.

Since 2012, CAYLAR has been developing a new know-how in the field of intelligent textiles and a new activity related to perception and communication technologies, based on the development of an innovative haptic communication device. This communication device has received a grant from the Defense Innovation Agency (MATEP project: MATrice EPicritique) with the aim of developing this mode of communication for military applications (discreet communication, navigation, man-dog communication) and civilian applications (rehabilitation, disability), in partnership with MEDES and the Toulouse University Hospital. Support from the Ile de France region (INNOV'UP PROTO) has also enabled the development of applications in the field of sports, with a view to the 2024 Olympic Games. In the military field, CAYLAR then joined the CENTURION program, led by the DGA, with the aim of integrating its technology with SAFRAN in the equipment of the soldier of the future.

Today CAYLAR is 20 years old! The team continues to grow and invest in research and new technologies in partnership with several French and European laboratories to strengthen its expertise and activities.
